goodbye

In the words of the mighty GO!, "It's been fun"! I met lots of great people doing this blog and discovered lots of great music, even recordings from some of my favorite bands that i never even knew existed. I just want to quickly thank all the bands and labels who provided so much music, info and pictures. All the people (including band members and others involved in the scene) who left informative comments, or just dropped in to say "thanks. That's basically what kept this blog going for so long.

Unfortunately Mediafuckup deleted all my files because of copyright laws on ONE file. The Corrosion of Conformity collection, which has been up and working for years. Why not just delete the one problem file instead of deleting over a hundred files? I'll never understand the razor sharp intellect behind that decision. Ever. Besides that, the comments sections have become flooded with hundreds of spamshit.

In my current situation - I moved to Florida with my wife and kids and am looking for work - i doubt i'll ever have the time to find all the CDRs, re-upload all the files to some other server, and delete hundreds of useless spam posts. It's a huge undertaking that i definitely cannot handle right now. Maybe someday.

Take care everyone. Thanks for all the support.

  12. I'm sorry to see this go. Your tastes overlap mine just enough that I was always excited to see what you had coming up next, and the amount of thought and care you put into each collection is a rare and valuable thing in a music blog. I'm sorry I'll never get to hear the Nunfuckers collection you were thinking about, but I totally understand. The problem with labors of love is that they're the first thing to go when life gets in the way. Thanks for all the great music.

  13. This is heartbreaking. I've regularly checked back on this labor of love, astounded to be turned onto so many great recordings. I've also filled in the blanks on bands I've only had one or two records from. Thanks so much for the work you've done; I hope that it's been a prod for people to reissue a lot of these in years to come.

  21. Oh, Stormy, yeah that sux! It's like with megaupload, the FBI deleted everything: from "illegal" stuff to bands' own Demos to family pictures clouds and then Kim Dot gets arrested for illegal downloads in an illegal country, on from Maori Nation stolen island!
Check out punk4free and just ask your followers to send there the shit they have saved for you. If it's not working that way then people pl send it all to blacktracker or directly to indymedia Athens! In language trouble ask Greeks to help you.

I was getting back to your blog cuz i was looking for Pavlos of wreckage records. Information if he's still alive would be helpful. Some old friends were looking for him...

Your job is over, times are changing, family is the most important shit in the world.

    Thanks for your work!
Want a "job"? Bring this band to America!
www.antidrasi.com has a free download of their fresh album and if you want to order the vinyl only you might check in at wipe-out records
Other brilliant bands from Greece are: BAD MOVIES, XASMA, PANX ROMANA, ANTI, KILL THE CAT, STRESS, XAT TRIK, PISSA KAI POUPOULA, GULAG, EKTOS ELEGXOU...

  22. dude, you should win a Pulitzer for your Infest discography post alone. thanks for all of the great music and info, hope mediafire realizes just how much culture they are destroying.

  23. It's times like this when I feel like a total idiot for not downloading everything that was hosted here when I had the chance. Thanks for the posts Stormy. Good luck in Florida

  32. Very sad to see this happen, though I totally understand. That being said, this was an incredible resource for checking out rare and obscure music and information about loads of classic/underrated bands. I doubt there will ever be another blog like it. Many thanks for all of your efforts, and best of luck with your future endeavors...

  33. Hey! Thanks for everything you did!
    Take care man.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Fuck! You did an amazing job. The amount of time, effort, and dedication to detail was beyond impressive. Thanks for preserving & presenting these classic sounds so well. Total bullshit that it was all removed due to one simple act of douchebaggery. Thank you for spending so much time doing what I've always been too lazy to do myself. Cheers!

  35. Thanks for all you hard work and for sharing great music!
"By the kids, for the kids", right? Not for Mediafire or the FBI.
