Joy Division - Live in Amsterdam 1980
Joy Division at their darkest, heaviest, and most memorable. The sound quality, the performance, the track list, and the fact that the band were just "on" the entire time, puts this bootleg head and shoulders above all others i've heard. Intense stuff, and possibly the only live album i listen to more than the band's studio albums. 17 perfectly executed classics from one of the greatest bands ever. Enjoy.

Good choice, Vin. Joy Division stands head and shoulders above the rest of the post-punk movement bands. The genius of Ian Curtis, as well as his inner demons are quite obviously evident in this particular performance.
ReplyDeletefucking excellent thanks

ReplyDeleteThanks. I have more Joy Division bootlegs than i know what to do with. At one point i was obsessed with collecting this stuff. This set stands as the definitive live set for me. I'd say this is even a good starting point for getting into Joy Division for the first time.
ReplyDeleteChalk up another one! This really captures them in a altogether memorable way. Thanks>Juggs
