United Mutation - 1981-1987 Discography

From what i can gather, this is the entire psychotic discography of DC's demented outsider band, United Mutation. This was a unique band to say the least. Listen to the track Rock'n'Roll Party Mix, this song was so far ahead of it's time, mixing crusty psychedelia and speed, with raspy vocals and lots of reverb. The result is something not heard before (especially in that place and time), and actually something not heard much today. They just seemed to say "fuck it" and did whatever they wanted, and that's what made them so amazing. No boundries. All the tracks here, except for the Rainbow Person ep, were ripped from the Lost & Found CD. The Rainbow Person ep was lifted from another blog, and the sound quality, even though it can't compete with the rest of the collection, is the best rip i've yet heard of this ground-breaking monster platter. Great sound quality throughout. Enjoy the madness.

Link Removed. Superior version soon.

  6. This is the band that Blush wrote in his book American Hardcore as "so bad they defy comment". Ha

  7. Yeah but what does Steve Blush "REALLY" know anyway?

  8. He knows fow to call every band that isn't Black Flag, Bad Brains or Dead Kennedys completely inept.

  9. Argh ! Extreme gratitude for this !
How do you do the direct-link thing with mediafire ? did you buy the pro package ?

Official announcement : I want, I need to buy a copy of the L&F CD, just in case anyone had an extra copy... laurent (at) churchofzer.com

I saw an "american hardcore" documentary film a few years ago and it was a boring and flacid collection of anecdotes and clichés. Is this Steve Blush genius the maker of this bad movie ?

  10. Zer, yeah, i got the Mediafire Pro package. And yes, Blush is the genius behind the American HC movie, and book. I find both to be extrememly entertaining, but Blush's comments can become annoying real quick. It's almost as if someone who hated hardcore outside of a few key bands decided to write a book on the subject. Makes no sense. And the soundtrack CD he compiled is an atrocity. If you have a 90 minute CD to fill to showcase American HC from 1980-1986, you FILL it. My "Fast & American" post is proof it can be done.

I'll keep an eye out for that Lost & Found CD.

  14. I've been using the same term, but I couldn't understand the last version about this same discography. People experiencing psychosis may report hallucinations or delusional beliefs, and may exhibit personality changes and thought disorder. 23jj

  18. Thanks, buddy. U.M. were a criminally underrated/overlooked band. This is kind of incomplete, though. "It's Over" is missing... :-/

  19. Ignore my previous comment, please. "It's Over" is kicking out at the beggining... D'OH!!! :D

  20. This is an absolute treasure- thanks! Speaking of midwest weirdo punk, you should totally do a Mecht Mensch discography.
